The SiriusDecisions inaugural Technology Exchange has just wrapped up in San Francisco. With more than 500 attendees and 31 sponsors, it was bustling with energy and enthusiasm for using technology to outperform the competition. The event started with a bang, with Jay Famico and Cheri Keith’s announcement of the SiriusDecisions MarketplaceTM.
The SiriusDecisions MarketplaceTM is an online resource that provides information on technology providers with a focus on b-to-b sales, marketing and product professionals. It will be publicly available on December 1.
Following that exciting announcement, the keynote sessions kicked off with Jason Hekl joining Jay Famico on stage to talk about the importance of specificity over scale. Jacques Begin spoke about building the aligned b-to-b infrastructure, providing a process for marketing, sales and product leaders to implement.
Next up, the CIO and CMO of Plex Systems, Heidi Melin and Chris Pesola, took the stage to talk about the importance of forging the CIO/CMO partnership. We thank them for the delicious chocolates they shared with the audience!
The afternoon track sessions advanced the dialogue in operationalizing these technologies. Leaders from IBM, Illumina, Oracle, Siemens, Sumo Logic, Thomson Reuters and Workfront all shared their stories, providing actionable advice to their peers.
The final day kicked off with a talk from Gil Canare and Bruce Brien that educated attendees about how to properly evaluate new technologies – and how to avoid “shiny new object syndrome.” T. Baxter Denney from New Relic presented on how to find (and keep) the right “technologist DNA” – unicorns, if you will.
John Donlon then talked about how to tackle b-to-b data governance and ownership issues within sales and marketing teams. Finally, Kerry Cunningham spoke about how to apply analytics in sales, marketing and product organizations.
Closing out the event, Jay announced that SiriusDecisions Technology Exchange will be located in Austin, Texas, November 16-17, 2016. See y’all then!
