Strategic Priorities for Marketing Leaders: The SiriusDecisions Healthcare Perspective

October 28, 2015 | By Jennifer Russo

  • Marketing leaders throughout the healthcare industry need to constantly adjust their strategies
  • Too often, we in the industry remain within the walls of our own organization
  • Healthcare marketing leaders must recognize that change is constant

If we were to express the healthcare industry as a symbol, I’d vote for this one: Δ

SymbolsThe Greek letter delta is used in math and science to designate the concepts of “change,” “difference” and – in certain cases – “uncertainty.”  I cannot think of a better way to express the current state of healthcare.

This substantial and ongoing change means that marketing leaders throughout the healthcare industry need to constantly adjust their strategies – whether to address new business models (e.g. the impact of value-based care, the eventual transition to more consumer orientation), evaluate the impact of regulation (e.g. MU3) or even influence how marketing contributes to the achievement of business goals (e.g. reputation-building efforts, contributions to pipeline).

Too often, we in the industry remain within the walls of our own organization – and rarely have the opportunity to gauge the impact of strategic challenges on within the industry.

We are focusing on this area in our research and would like to hear from you. Please take five minutes to fill out the short survey below. All respondents will have the option of receiving access to a summary of the results – and will be entered in a drawing to receive an American Express gift card.
